Allt a Bhainne translates from the Gaelic as "steam of milk". The distillery was founded in 1975 so is a relatively recent addition to the speyside landscape. It has the capacity to produce four million litres of spirit per annum although it is rarely bottled as a single malt.
Coconut emerges on the nose as fruit and vanilla aromas come to the fore, with a delicate peatiness in the backgrund. The palate builds nicely with plenty of fruitiness and rich, sweet, grassy notes. The finish brings a little spice into play.
