Glengoyne boasts of being the only distillery that uses no peated barley. Located on the southern fringes of the Trossachs, the distillery sits prettily at the foot of Dumgoyne Hill from which a 50 foot waterfall cascades.
The nose opens nicely, offering vanilla custard notes along with mashed bananam tinned oeaches and toasted hazelnut. The enjoyably viscous palate is powerful, with waves of baked apple, gingerbread and toffee. The addition of water brings out some gentle anise notes. Stewed apple and custard appear on the long finish.
